The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recently released another very well done animation video based on their Reinvent The Toilet initiative. This new video seeks to educate all of us on the current sanitation challenges in India specifically, and what we need to focus on in order move towards a solution.
“Every day in India, over 1 lakh ton of human waste goes into the environment untreated. Building toilets and changing social behavior around open defecation is critical, and so is the need to develop innovative, new-age solutions that provide universal access to hygienic toilets and safe disposal of human waste.”
Our field work (as well as the work in many other toilet projects) in India echoes much of what is shown in the video, but it’s nice to see that information displayed visually in such a dynamic way.
